Subject- Seeking Nomination for MITx Micro Masters programme in Data, Economics and Dcvelopment Policy (DEDP) under Integrated Government Online Trdining (iGOT) Programme through Massive Online Open Courscs (MOOCs) mechanism.
With refercncc to subject cited abovc, the undersigned is directed to inform that following online courses of MITx Micro Masters programme in Data, Economics and Development Policy (DEDP) (8' h batch) in collaboration with Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (I-PAL), South Asia and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA under the iGOT initiative ai‘e proposed to be conducted from 05-10-202 I :-
i. The Challenges of Global Poverty;
ii. Designing and Running Randomized Evaluations; i i i . Political Economy and Economic Development
iv. Data Analysis for Social Scientists;
2. There is no restriction regarding enrolment for more than one Course in one batch by any officer. given the time commitment that each course requires. However, it is advisable that only one course should be enrolled in one batch by an officer.
3. The basic objective of the MITx MicroMasters program is to equip officials with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to tackle some of the most pressing challenges facing developing countries and the world's poor. The program is crucial to familiarise policymakers and practitioners in the Government with identifying and analysing the root causes of under-development using principles ot economics. The courses under MITx MicroMasters program arc useful in intcrprcting the findings of empirical research that evaluates the ctféctivcncss of anti-povcrty strategies, policies and interventions.
4. It is to highlight here that pai’ticipation in such training courses will help the officers in being shortlisted for deputation to other Ministries/Departments and will have linkage to their posting in this department, in future.

5. Hence, it is requested to arrange submission of maximum number of nomination of the eligible Group A officers (Upto the rank of Director), who have served for at least two years from thc end of’ thc calcndar ycar of' their joining of’ service in thcir rcspcctivc cadres and is not more than 5ñ years of age as on 1st July of the year‘ of commencement of training, to attend the said programme. It is also brought out that officers nominated may not be deputed for the said Training, till a communication in this regard is received from the Training Division, Dak Bhawan.
6. It is requested that nominations, if any, for the programme from your office may please be sent to the Training division of the Postal Directorate, duly recommended by the competent authority latest by 15-09-2021. Nominations should invariably include name of officer, mobile no. & official email ID.
7. This has the approval of the Competent Authority.
