Department of Posts has tied up with Reliance Money Limited for the sale of Gold Coins through selected Post Offices. The scheme was introduced at 103 post offices in Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Tamilnadu Postal Circles on 15.10.2008.
Reliance Money Limited supplies Gold coins of denominations - 0.5gram, 1 gram, 5 grams and 8 grams of 24 carat (99.99% pure) to all the listed post offices. These gold coins bear the logo of India Post. The sale of gold coins is carried out through its web-based Gold Inventory Software. The coins are packed in a sealed cover with certification from Valcambi, Switzerland which has low risk of duplication.
For the forthcoming Akshaya Tritiya festival season, a special campaign has been organized by Reliance Money Infrastructure Limited during the period from 04.04.2011 to 30.06.2011. Two different types of discount offers have been announced for the customers who purchase gold coins from Post Offices during this period.
General offer:
0.5 gm gold coin free on purchase of 10 gms gold coins
Government Employee scheme:
6% discount on purchase of gold coin of any denomination.
Both the schemes are exclusive of each other and the Government Employees can avail any one of the offers, as per their preference.
